Dans le précédent article du même nom. Je résumais ma lente et douloureuse évolution vers le numérique. La note de ce jour aura pour objet de vous présenter le travail de mise en valeur du cliché effectué en 1989 à Londres. Celui-ci avait été effectué grâce à un appareil jetable.

Le négatif avait dormi des années, puis numérisé voici un an via un photographe. Il est temps de lui redonner vie.

Prenez un négatif numérisé et muri pendant un an dans votre disque dur.

Travailler votre fichier avec Photoshop ou un autre logiciel (selon vos affinités), jusqu'à obtention d'un visuel satisfaisant. Détacher votre premier plan de la suite de l'image. Accentuer la perspective en donnant du volume à la façade de gauche. A droite, l'église reçoit un traitement qui ajoute de la lumière à ses briques. L'ombre du bâtiment blanc est modifiée pour apporter plus de douceur et de contraste. Le rouge des bus est ravivé. Bien sur, l'image est nettoyé, il ne subsistera que les rayures et griffures qui lui octroi un côté "vintage".

Work your file with Photoshop or another software (according to your affinities), until obtaining a satisfactory visual. Detach your foreground from the rest of the image. Emphasize the perspective by giving volume to the left facade. On the right, the church receives a treatment that adds light to its bricks. The shadow of the white building is modified to bring more softness and contrast. The red of the buses is revived. Of course, the image is clean up, it will only exist the scratches that gives it a "vintage" style.

Maintenant, la partie préparation est finie, passons à l'impression. Mon traceur numérique préféré est une Roland SJ-1045EX avec seulement six couleurs. :p

La phase impression achevée, voici les différentes épreuves. Le papier du tirage de lecture, en haut, ne me donnait pas satisfaction et semblait boucher mes noirs. Je décide de passer sur un papier 240gr mat. L'épreuve de gauche est sympa, mais finalement, je décide de pousser les paramètres couleurs directement sur le RIP Caldera. Le résultat devient vraiment intéressant, et j'aime cette atmosphère de fin de journée.

The printing phase is complete, here are the different proofs. The reading paper on the top did not give me satisfaction. I decide to pass on a 240gr matt paper. The test on the left is nice, but finally I decide to push the color settings directly on the Caldera RIP. The result is really interesting, and I like this atmosphere at the end of the day.

Au delà de la dimension technique, ma grande satisfaction a été une remise en valeur d'un ancien cliché qui me tenait à cœur et venait de mon enfance. Cette photo partira comme cadeau d'anniversaire pour une de mes nièces, l'aventure continue.
